Please refer to the colour guide on the outer box to determine the ideal level of pre-lightening required for your color.
Color Desired: | Pre-lightening: |
Shades and Streaks of : Blacks/Browns/Chestnuts | Level 4 as per outer box |
Shades and Streaks of : Blues, Greens, Pinks, Purples, Oranges , Reds , Teals, Violets and Yellows | Level 8 as per outer box |
Shades and Streaks of : Neons and Pastels | Level 9 as per outer box |
Ensure to completely remove all lightening products from the hair before applying color, anything left behind will interfere with the coloring process and give undesirable results. Wash, rinse and let it dry thoroughly. If desired allow a day to pass before applying color to help the scalp recover.
If using multiple colors or mixing two or more colors to get your desired colour pre-lighten your hair to a higher level than mentioned on the outer box.
Always wear protective gloves and apply a conditioner or petroleum jelly around the hairline and top of the ears to help prevent staining.
To ensure desirable results, try on a small section of unnoticeable hair patch, preferably on hair just above the middle of neck for 20-30 minutes before attempting to color a larger section of hair.
Using a clean applicator, apply the color to recently lightened dry hair. Starting at the scalp apply the color through the hair in multiple directions, continue and apply till the ends. Sectioning the hair can make the application easier. Make sure the hair is thoroughly saturated with color.
Once the color has been applied wait for 30-40 minutes . Applying extra heat can affect the process. Cover the hair with a plastic cap if you desire.
After 30 minutes of application Rinse the color with normal tap water. Some colors may bleed [drip a colored water] after rinsing and this is to be expected. Follow up by washing the hair with a shampoo; preferably color protecting low pH shampoo and conditioner.
Your hair is now coloured and conditioned with natural glossiness
Because of the natural variations in hair and time encountered while bleaching the length of hair ; shade and time the color will last is not easily determined. Exposure to sunlight and environmental conditions may cause the color to fade prematurely. A low pH color protecting shampoo and conditioner as well as refraining from extended sunlight exposure can help keep your color looking vibrant and last longer. UV protecting products can also help bring longevity to your color.
Mixing/Customizing Colors:
ShoHan Semi Permanent hair colors are ideal for creating custom hues. The color in the bowl is the color you will see on the pre-lightened hair. It’s very important to pre-lighten to the proper level in order to achieve the desired color. If there is any leftover color remaining from a prior application it will affect the final outcome and overly damaged or processed hair will not readily take color giving undesirable results.
Note: Wipe off stains on skin or along hairline with a swab of cotton as soon as they appear.
For best results use on clean hair.
